The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance - it is the illusion of knowledge.

We can all agree that there are major problems in our world. These problems exist and persist because we are ignorant to the root cause which empowers them; this ignorance or sense of pseudo-knowing blocks our understanding. Therefore, it would seem logical that by expanding our awareness in order to understand the problems, that therein we would discover the solutions. Having identified a myriad of solutions to the major problems that plague our society, it seemed logical next to create a vehicle through which to share the wisdom accumulated from the process of expanding our awareness.                            

In order to do this, we needed to be able to share various forms of data including, but not limited to, Text, Audio, Video (including full-length films), and hyper-link interactivity to allow the audience to fully engage and dig deeper beyond the information presented.

In short, we needed to create an interactive presentation mechanism, which would bring all of these forms of essential data into one place, with a user-interface that is user-friendly.

The panacea we present is Tragedy and Hope, an internet information service presented in the form of an online, flip-page, multimedia magazine; sharing the text, audio, video, and links necessary to become informed above the mainstream.

So what powers the Problems we face? One might assume ignorance is the power source, but upon investigation we’ve discovered that the Problems are fueled by the illusion of knowledge. If we truly had knowledge, we would understand and thus be able to confidently take informed action toward solving these problems.

A vaccination of information is the prescription which addresses the root cause of our problems as humanity; as it inoculates the audience with wisdom.

Knowledge becomes wisdom only when shared.

These are some of the ideas that inspired the creation of Tragedy and Hope, as we came to understand that: Knowledge becomes power only when, and if, it is organized into definite plans of action and directed toward a definite end.

Tragedy and Hope directs knowledge through organized and definite acts of creative communication; expressly to empower our audience with the abilities to raise their level of awareness.

Specifically, the audience for Tragedy and Hope includes: People who are concerned with and/or affected by the need for:

o       Clean air to breathe

o       Clean water to drink

o       Organic food to eat

o       Non-polluting, sustainable, low-cost energy

o       Freedom of information (and therefore informed choice)

o       Freedom of Expression (the seed of human culture)

o       Dignified employment opportunities

o       Sustainable methods of meeting long & short term goals

o       The overall right to be self-sufficient in a dignified existence

o       Health Care instead of health scare

These points, in part, make up the common ground that we all share in our efforts to attain not only the basics for survival; but for our individual right to pursue life, liberty, and happiness.

COMMON SOLUTIONS

1. By its nature, as a global environment, Our socionomic paradigm (in which our social values are in conflict with our economic values) is unbalanced and projects a zero sum game (where one profits at the expense of another’s suffering).

2. This generates fear (belief in limited resources), leading to greed, which brings about the deceitful control of information. The dynamics of Power are fed by Fear of losing illusory control; where this in turn leads to the restriction of innovation, and thus the whole suffers as a result.

3. In our current socionomic model, unaware self-suffocation occurs.  Ignorance, is the root of most if not all of the world’s major concerns; and Ignorance is protected by Fear.

4. Our research reflects that the notion of a zero sum game is the summation of various illusions cast; and that by introducing and placing in context the hidden variables, We can all enjoy the unlimited potential of the world We share in this life- realizing the dream of countless generations- and making sustainable and prosperous living conditions the reality We build Together.

5. As long as human beings are motivated by Fear, Suffering will continue to escalate.

6. We see the solution as the propagation of communication in the form of multimedia, as ignorance and fear are trumped by awareness and hope; learning fosters Cognitive Liberty, which is the fruit of Freedom.

7. We choose to think past the problems, and fully realize the current climate of fear for the opportunity it represents: to provide nutritious food for thought, which inspires millions of minds to create profitable solutions which are also sustainable and humane. 

Tragedy and Hope realizes an unparalleled opportunity in human history, by revealing the Achilles' Heel of this inefficient and self-destructive system; freeing those in bondage and planting seeds that will bear a sustainable supply of bountiful fruit for generations to come.
